Steel Tubing's Influence on Construction

As we've covered before, there are thousands of applications for steel tubing products in just about every corner of the world and in a huge amount of different industries. One of those industries is in the construction of new buildings, far and wide, for a ton of different uses, like apartments, office space or governmental decision-making. Most of these buildings will likely be built with the help of scaffolding which is made with an array of steel tubing parts. Let's take a look at why scaffolding is so important and how steel tubing is an important part of the construction industry as we know it!

Safety:

Scaffolding is important for ensuring the safety of the workers that are contracted to construct a new building. These structures help create a flat surface for workers to stand on while they work and also allow more than one person at a time to be working in a similar area or site. The creation of handrails on the top platforms for scaffolding also helps ensure worker safety whenever they are spending time working on the tops of platforms.

Ease of Access:

As many buildings nowadays are made to go high into the air, it would have been impossible for workers to reach these heights to work without the creation of scaffolding. This tool can help workers stay within an arm's reach of a wall, floor, ceiling or whatever they may be working on and has dramatically increased the efficiency of construction.

Position Advantage:

Similar to Ease of Access, scaffolding allows workers to be straight on with the areas that they are working on. This lets them have more leverage behind things such as lifting something into place or even swinging a hammer, making them more efficient. Scaffolding also allows people to work side-by-side with one another helping jobs to get finished faster and safer.

As you can see the application of steel tubing in the creation of scaffolding has helped a whole industry increase its efficiency in our ever-expanding world, while also making it safer for workers in what was previously a rather dangerous occupation. Basic Welding Joints

Welded joints are one of the most commonly seen joints although there is much more that goes into them than most realize. A Weld Joint is characterized by being the place where two or more metal pieces are joined together through the introduction of melted solder and high heat. There are 5 types of weld joints, corner, lap, tee, edge, and butt. Each one has it's own unique qualities and the best places to implement.  The butt joint is formed by placing the ends of two parts together. The two parts either lie on the same plane or are side by side. It is the most simple type of weld joint. There are a few different types of welds involved with a good butt joint. Next, let's focus a little on the corner joint. The corner joint is another pretty basic option for beginners and looks exactly how it sounds. This joint is identified by the two welded pieces being joined together in the shape of an L. It is important to remember to weld both the front and back of the L shape for struc
