Building Community through a Playground

Playground in Galion, Ohio
What excites most children on a bright sunny day? A trip to the park of course! There's nothing like being able to play and swing and climb on a park playground. This is why many cities and municipalities are investing in new playground equipment. It brings a revitalization to the area, and people get a renewed sense of pride when they see the gleaming, new play area. So how do you keep that sense of pride from diminishing? By investing in a high quality playground.

Metal outdoor play equipment is durably constructed of high-grade steel and applied with a special coating to eliminate rust damage. It’s non-splintering and offers the ability to be painted in a wide spectrum of colors. This grants the playground's owner complete freedom to design, and redesign the aesthetics whenever they need to.

Playground equipment is constructed of powder-coated steel pipe, making it much stronger than wood, and you won't have to deal with warping, splintering, or chemical treatments.

Slides ready for fun!

When you visit any park, there’s often a line of children waiting for a chance to get on the swings, so as you plan what structures to build in your play area, be sure to include plenty of commercial-grade swing sets so no kids end up waiting too long for a turn!

Slides are also highly prized by any child. There are many types of slides, so include several of different sizes and pathways so kids of all sizes can join in on the fun!

Kids in wheelchairs can join in on this fun, accessible merry-go-round!
Also, don't forget children with handicaps. They enjoy playgrounds just as much as any child, so include specialized swings for them, and other accessible toys for their play as well. Making your playground accessible for all types of abilities really does enhance the feeling of community!

The final piece is not at all the least important, but make sure to choose a good play surface. Wood chips used to be standard, and they are probably the cheapest, but now rubber mulch and solid rubber play surfaces are growing in popularity and seem to be a better option for protection from injury and for better handicapped accessibility.

Play is great for everyone!

There are 5 types of weld joints, corner, lap, tee, edge, and butt. The two parts either lie on the same plane or are side by side. It is the most simple type of weld joint. There are a few different types of welds involved with a good butt joint. Next, let's focus a little on the corner joint. The corner joint is another pretty basic option for beginners and looks exactly how it sounds.
